For the first act of this episode, we’ve paired Wonkak Kim and Grace Choi’s performance of Louis Cahuzac’s Cantilene with Doneka Scott, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Student Success at the University of Oregon. For the second act, we’ll hear Laura Zaerr perform her composition River Right Rhumba for solo harp along with commentary from State Representative Marty Wilde.

I enjoyed this! Wonkak Kim, clarinet and Grace Choi, piano, were a lovely duo. But then — what is this dissing of the clarinet?! I love its unique, warm timbre in low registers…and was our guest commentator once an oboist? Those pesky reeds…
A good idea, having Brian as the host. The discussions are to the point but also can stray quite nicely, thanks to a sense of humor always lurking. Really appreciated the tie to our current forest fires.
After Laura Zaerr’s solo harp, I got to know flutist Wilde – my State Representative — far better thanks to this interview. But in the future, we would be better to release an interview with a candidate after, rather than just before, an election.
